Sally Ann White-Young

Sally White Young, age 61, beloved wife, mother, mimi and friend, of Ocean Springs, MS, went to her loving Lord and Savior the evening of Saturday, June 28, 2008. Born on May 21, 1947 in Meridian, MS and moving to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1973 a home full of love and laughter grew. She was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church for all the years in Ocean Springs. Love of children found Sally helping at local, coast schools for many years. She enjoyed art projects with her grandchildren and caring for her family. Despite a fifteen year battle with leukemia, which only strengthened her faith and heart, she continued to show compassion and love for everyone, spreading happiness and joy where she could. Her smiles and unfailing love of her husband, family and friends will be greatly missed. We pray that the almighty Lord whom guided her days here holds her ever so close until we meet again. Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her parents, William Edward and Eileen Culpeper White of Meridian, Mississippi. Survivors include her husband of forty years, Billy W. Young of Ocean Springs; daughters, Laurie Young Maxwell and husband Bryan of Senatobia, MS and Ashley Young Forestieri and her husband Michael of Ocean Springs; grandchildren, Mayci, Caroline, Jackson and Baby-to-be Maxwell all of Senatobia, MS as well as Cameron, Gianna and Nicholas Forestieri all of Ocean Springs; sister, Kay White Severance of Meridian, MS along with many aunts, uncles and nieces. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church in Ocean Springs, where friends may visit one hour prior to service.
