Samuel E. Tanner

Samuel E. Tanner, 71, of Vancleave, MS died Monday, September 19, 2011 in Ocean Springs, MS. Samuel was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener and he enjoyed vacationing and sight- seeing. He worked at Ingall's for over thirty years. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sabra Tanner; brother, James Tanner; sisters, Margaret Buckingham, Alice King and Sabra Fox. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ima Coy Tanner of Vancleave; daughter, Sandra (Greg) Norris of Vancleave; son, Eric (Alisha) Tanner of Vancleave; sisters, Barbara Ann Comeaux, Geraldine Carlander, Mary Lou Ridgedell, Patricia Booty and Ina Holden; and grandchildren, Jaclyn Norris, Scott Tanner and Chris Tanner. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe. Funeral service will be on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Skylark Baptist Church, 3921 Beasley Dr., Gautier, MS. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
