Samuel Howard Seymour, a lifetime Gulf Coast resident, was born February 4, 1919, and passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Ocean Springs Hospital. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who provided guidance and wisdom to many. He worked as a rigger at Northrop Grumman Shipyard (Ingalls) from 1942 to 1982 and was the first of four generations of the Seymour family employed at the company. Mr. Sam also served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his father, Solomon Seymour, his mother Elzie Hausen, his beloved wife Clotille Priscilla (Basque) Seymour, sisters Blanche Seymour, Wilmetta Ferguson, and Helen Basque and brother Wilford Seymour. Survivors include his son Byron Joseph "BJ" Seymour Sr., and his daughters, Glenda Borries and Ginger Jenner-Greene (Al). His grandchildren are Byron J. Seymour Jr. (Paula), Glenn H. Seymour (Susan), Patty Jo Cassidy (Johnny), Katina Williamson (Bryan), Kitty Seymour-Swetman, Michael Jenner (Jamie), Sammy Jenner (Hollie), Doug Borries, and Angie Renner (Greg). His great grandchildren are Joseph D. Seymour (Beth), Heath J. Seymour (Heather), Hannah Seymour, Ashley Cassidy, J.C. Cassidy, Annie Swetman, Byron J. Swetman, D.J. Borries, Chloe Renner, Grant Renner, Kayla Marie Jenner, Noah Jenner, Brayden Jenner, and great-great grandchildren Braxton Seymour, Jace Seymour, Gracie Mae Seymour, and Kyler Seymour. Services will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011, at Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs. Family visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m., friends may visit from 10 am to 12 pm, with graveside services at the Seymour Gulf Hills Cemetery.
