Sandra Garrard

Mrs. Sandra VanCleave Garrard, age 62, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Thursday, September 29, 2005, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Garrard was born on September 15, 1943 in Biloxi, MS. and was a lifelong resident of the coast. She was the daughter of Vertalee Bradford and Richard Gordon VanCleave. She worked at Hancock Bank for many years and was also a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Garrard was preceded in death by her parents, Vertalee and Richard VanCleave. She is survived by her husband, Joseph B. Garrard, II, of Ocean Springs, children, Eileen (David) Bailey of Tupelo, MS., Julie (James) Frazier of Vancleave, Joseph B. (Rhonda) Garrard, III, of Forts Lake, MS., and Gordon VanCleave Garrard of Ocean Springs, grandchildren, Kathrene Frazier, Claire Semmes Bailey, Scott Garrard, Stephen Garrard, Katie Garrard, and Joseph Garrard, and brother-in-law, Jack Garrard and his family. She will be sadly missed by Emree Steptoe, Jeanette Fulton and Martha Jane O'Conner. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 1, 2005, from 10 - 11 AM, with an 11 AM church service, all at St. John's Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family would like to thank all of those who helped Mrs. Garrard during her illness. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
