Sarah Elizabeth Sullivan

On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, Sarah Elizabeth Sullivan departed this life to be welcomed and embraced by the Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven. She was a kind and godly woman who loved and raised her own children and then helped to raise countless more grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.  She was kind to all, cooking potato pancakes and cherry turnovers and serving those who worked with her husband and those who came to visit.  Not much time would go by that she didn’t have a baby in her arms, feeding it and singing to it.

Mrs. Sullivan was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Sullivan; her son, David Patrick; her sister Lina Mae; her brothers Robert, George, J.C. and Ray; her mother and father, Clarence and Lina Page and three grandchildren, Joy Bradley, Lauren Williams and Frankie Hammack.

She is survived by her sisters Hazel, Claire, Cathy, Julie and Shirley; four daughters, Patricia Hastings (Rocky), Rhonda Bradley (Blair), Mary Hammack and Anna Williams.  She leaves behind fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren with innumerable nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Sullivan was born again at an early age and continued to serve God throughout her life.  Her most common prayer was that her children and those she helped raise would come to know the peace, joy and love that comes through salvation in Jesus Christ.  It wasn’t uncommon to hear her singing the songs of her Christian faith and praying for those she loved.  When people are loved like Mrs. Sullivan loved them, it is hard to forget or even replace it.  And that is the most common characteristic she leaves behind: Love.

The service will be Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road, Gulfport.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time.  Interment will be in Wolf River Cemetery.
