Senie Mae Mallette

On the morning of July 18, 2023, Senie Mae Mallette, loving wife, mother, and matriarch of the Moseley Mallette Family passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 91 years old at her home in Vancleave, MS.

She was born on May 2, 1932 in Union, MS to Luther and Bertha Mae Thrash. Senie Mae’s greatest love was her family and her husband, Mose. Her red brick home on Old Fort Bayou Road has been the heartbeat of their family for over 70 years. She and Moseley raised 5 children and 9 grandchildren there. Senie Mae was a homemaker with a passion for cooking. She enjoyed time spent with her family and friends.

Senie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Bertha Mae (Brown) Thrash; siblings, Sybil, George, Randolph, Charles, Donald, Johnnie Faye, and Joyce; her beloved husband, Moseley Allen Mallette; and grandchildren, Travis, Jeremy, and Joel Mallette. 

She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Bright, sons, Stewart (Gail) Mallette, Steve Mallette, Craig Mallette and Charles Mallette, brother-in-law, Glynn Mallette, grandchildren, Hannah (Jared) Hughes, Missy Hunt, Charla (Brent) McKey, Angela Mallette, Jessica Mallette, Natalie (Tyler) Jemison, Julie (Jason) Rouse, Miguel Mallette and Brent Mallette, great-grandchildren, Stella Story, Aubrey Shay Mallette, Avery Jemison, Anna Katherine Jemison, Lyla Hughes, Hallee Hughes, Ryland Hughes, Caydon McKey, Brayden McKey, Ayden McKey, Dillon Hunt and Megan Hunt, Scarlett Rouse, Isabelle Rouse, Jake Rouse, and Eli Rouse.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Russell, Hal Mallette, John Hammond, Jared Hughes, Brent Mallette and Miguel Mallette.

The Mallette family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Nancy Ladnier for her gentle care and friendship with Senie Mae over the last two years of her life.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS. Friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at Vancleave #1 Cemetery.
