Sergio Bozzetti passed away on December 11, 2023 at the age of 82 years old from complications of Multiple Sclerosis. Sergio was born on April 22, 1941 in Rome, Italy and grew up in Cali, Columbia, South America.
Before coming to America, Sergio graduated from The German High School of Cali, Columbia in 1962.
Sergio first came to this country in 1958 and his brother, Max Bozzetti, soon joined him at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi where he majored in mathematics and was a member of Phi Kappa Tau social fraternity. Sergio graduated from USM in 1966. In 1968, he completed graduate work at the University of Southeastern Louisiana in foreign languages.
Sergio became a United States Citizen on July 27, 1967.
He met his future wife, Patricia Carolyn Bozzetti, while they both attended USM. They were married on June 14, 1968 at the First Presbyterian Church in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Sergio loved the sport of tennis and was on the USM Tennis Team from 1963 through 1965. His brother, Max, was also on the team. Another sport he loved was soccer and watched it whenever it came on television.
Sergio is survived by his wife, Carolyn Anderson Bozzetti; son, Vincent Kirk Bozzetti; sister, Carla Mansrezi of St. Augustine, Florida; sister, Milena Regnier of Cali, Columbia; and brother, Max Bozzetti of Key West, Florida. Sergio was preceded in death by his parents, Carlo and Esilve Bozzetti, and his daughter, Monica Shannon Bozzetti.
