Seth James Carter, also known as “Seffers” or “Carter”, age 35, passed away on January 6, 2024 at home leaving behind a legacy of love, affection, and cherished memories.
He was born to his contagiously charismatic mother, Christy Lynn Sechrest and father, James Cary Carter on December 29, 2988. Seth was a devoted partner to Holly Amber Williams and a great role model to her daughter, Zailey Lynn Bussard, who loved him dearly.
Seth was passionate about various aspects of life. He had a soft and kind contemporary spirit, some would even say he had a kindred soul. He was very much a team player. Extremely generous, he was the type to give the shirt right off of his own back. He was never too busy to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a deep and loyal love for his canine companion, Vader, who returned that love equally. He loved to be outdoors and going on new adventures. Always taking interest in and looking for odd/new things, especially rocks. His hobbies included disc golfing, fishing, hunting, hiking, and camping. He was a gun enthusiast, a member of the Pascagoula Shooting Club, and would love to go shooting when he had the spare time.
He was born and raised around Harley Davidson motorcycles and took great pride in having one of his own and enjoyed riding it as often as possible. He had a compassion for video gaming, he played with anyone from close friends to people all over the world. His adventurous spirit led him to take many trips with friends to go scuba diving, as well as countless fishing trips at Horn Island creating lasting memories. He got his first job at the young age of 15, and in having that experience gained the importance of work ethic. He continued to work the rest of his life in numerous trades, which led him to obtain his C&C degree at MGCCC ultimately becoming a certified machinist. No matter where he was working, Seth gained cherishable friendships with his coworkers. Seth and his crew from him most current job at E3 Environmental Services became like family working out of town a lot. They were fun, wild, and cared a lot about their families as a whole.
Seth enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. He was always the jokester, with an inept ability for making people laugh, or putting a smile on their face. Seth had the type of goofiness in his own quirky way that could easily light up a room, making him a truly one-of-a-kind individual. If you knew Seth as a close friend, you knew he was loyal and with you through thick and thin. His profound faith was a guiding force in his life, bringing him solace and strength.
He is survived by his grandmother, Sarah Vines; grandfather, Bob Vines; numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins in Florida and South Mississippi; to include family from his mother’s previous marriage; and countless friends, which created a network of family bonds that spanned across regions.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS. Friends may visit from 1:00pm until service time.
May Seth Carter rest in peace and may the words of his vibrant spirit continue to bring comfort and warmth to those who knew and loved him.
