Shannon Chunn Trochesset, age 74 of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023 peacefully at home. Shannon was born October 30, 1948 to Shannon M. and Alice Marie Chunn Trochesset in Biloxi, MS. He grew up in the St. Martin community and attended St. Martin Schools except for first grade he attended St. Theresa Catholic Elementary School.
Shannon began working at a young age with a paper route and then he drove a school bus during his high school years. After graduation, he held several different jobs until he went to work for the Coca Cola Company. He was a loyal employee for over 40 years. Shannon could not remain idle so after retiring from Coca Cola he went to work as a security guard at the Golden Nugget where he made many friends. Shannon never met a stranger and working for Coca Cola and the Golden Nugget allowed him to meet many new people which gave him joy.
Shannon was a member of St. Martin Lion's Club, a Knight with the K of C 9094 Father McAlpine Council and a founding member of the North Biloxi Mullets. He spent many weekends playing softball with the members of the Mullets. He also enjoyed football with friends until injury ended his football fun. He was an avid MS State Football Fan and enjoyed attending as many home games as possible.
Shannon was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 74 years. His love for God was visible daily by the way he lived his life. Many described him as a kind soul or a ray of light. His faith is what kept him going for the past two years of his life. For those who knew him, they knew he would do anything to help others and reminded us all to rely on God, Jesus our Savior to help with our problems.
Shannon was a family man who loved his children and grandchildren dearly. He was a great Dad, brother, son, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Shannon and Marie Trochesset; and grandparents, Laurence and Agnes Manuel Trochesset and James Fletcher and Myrtle Deweese Chunn.
Shannon is survived by his son, Daniel Trochesset; his daughter, Tiffany Tanner; his grandchildren, Daniel C. Cartwright, Jonathan Tanner, and Shalynn Tanner; his brothers, Kevin (Donna) Trochesset Sr. and Stephen (Jeannie) Trochesset Sr.; his sister, Dawn (Jim) Gildea; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins who will miss him dearly. Rest in peace Shannon for we will one day be together again.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made in Shannon’s memory to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund.
