Sheila Lynn Creel Peterson

Sheila Lynn Creel Peterson, 61, of Gulfport, MS passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 in Gulfport.

She was born in Richton, MS and was a longtime resident of the Coast.  Mrs. Peterson was a member of the Free Church of God and she loved and walked with God.  She loved her family and her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She always loved to tell stories about her childhood and life experiences.  She had a memory like no other recalling the smallest details.

Mrs. Peterson is preceded in death by her father, James A. Creel; her mothers, Macy Creel and Wilma Stewart Creel; two brothers, James Larry Creel and Boyd Stewart; a sister, Lawana Hill.

She is survived by her husband, Pastor Bruce Peterson; her daughter, Katrina Lynn Peterson; two sons, Joshua Bruce Peterson (Caryle) and Jason Bruce Peterson (Amanda); her sisters, Jacqueline Childress, Charlotte Griffin, Sandra Whitehead; her brothers, James Carrol Creel and Ricky Stewart and Brian Stewart; grandchildren, Chasity Anderson (Willie), Billy McCulley, Joshua Bruce Peterson, Jr., Kaylee Peterson, Kelsie Peterson, Brittany Thompson (Ashton) and Dylan Molsbee (Kerry); great grandchildren, Keigan Martin, Jaxxsen Thompson, Journi Thompson, Londyn Molsbee and Jacey Rye.

Visitation will be Friday, February 23, 2024 from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15452 O’Neal Road, Gulfport, MS.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. followed by interment in Finley Cemetery.
