Sheila Ray O'Brien passed away Monday, March 28, 2005 in Milton, FL. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Sheila was born May 2, 1963 in California, and had been a resident of Gulfport since 1979. She was a member of The Nourishing Place Worship
Center in Gulfport. Sheila
graduated from the University
of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg with a Master's in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Sciences.
She was an active member of the Hibernia Marching Society in Biloxi and was Irish Colleen in 1984. Sheila was also an active member of the Greater Gulfport Jaycees and the Mississippi Jaycees. While in the Greater Gulfport Jaycees, she served as President as well as chairing many committees and holding many directorships. On the state level of the Jaycees, Sheila served as a District Director and held the perpetual office of Governor Number 422 of the Mississippi Jaycees. She enjoyed her work with the Jaycees and loved her Jaycee family. HOY! Recently, she also volunteered at the MS Sound Historical Museum in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jane Hallett O'Brien and her grandmother, Jeanette West, both of Gulfport.
She is survived by her father, Thomas J. O'Brien, III; her brothers, Sean T. O'Brien and Conrad N. Miller; a sister, Holly McCarthy; three nieces and two nephews.
A memorial service will be held at The Nourishing Place in the near future. In keeping with Sheila's wishes her ashes will be scattered at sea. She was an avid scuba diver and relished in the beauty of the ocean and the places she visited in pursuit of that love.
