Mrs. Shirley C. Firth Holmes, 36, of Biloxi, MS, died Thursday, July 30, 2009, in Mobile, AL. Shirley was born in Biloxi and was a lifelong resident of St. Martin. She was a Biloxi High School graduate and attended MS Gulf Coast Jr. College, Jeff Davis Campus. Shirley was a South Mississippi Insurance Broker. and became Corporate Controller for Holmes Motors, Inc. She was founder and organizer of the Crew of Les Bell Fleur Carnival Association of the Gulf Coast and very active in numerous carnival associations. Shirley was fond of being on the water, swimming, snow sking, and she loved to travel. She was also heavily involved with her daughter's sports activities and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin S. and Louise Miller Firth, and a sister, Kimberly Firth Alexander. She is survived by two daughters, Lauren Catherine Holmes and Lindsay Paige Holmes of Biloxi; the father of her children, Bill Holmes, Jr.; five sisters, Gail Firth Dutil and her husband, Henry, of Biloxi, Debbie Firth Conway of D'Iberville, Wanda Firth Toothman and her husband, John, of D'Iberville, Stacey Firth Landry of Lake Charles, LA, and Candy Firth Lance and her husband, Heath, of Lake Charles, LA; her fiance' Stephen Benton, of Pensacola, FL; numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Shirley is loved and will be missed by many. Visitation is Monday, August 3, 2009, from 6 until 9 p.m., Rosary at 7 p.m., at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, in Biloxi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11 a.m. where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in D'Iberville Memorial Park
