Shirley Marie Fountain

Shirley Marie Slater Fountain died October 22, 2007 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Born in Pascagoula, Mississippi on November 28, 1930, she was the daughter of Ethel and Hilliard Slater of Pascagoula, Mississippi. A graduate of Pascagoula High School, Ms. Fountain was an active member of Belle Fountain Baptist Church. She retired from the Ocean Springs School District, after 26 years in service as a bus driver for the transportation division of the school district. Her husband Henry Joseph Fountain, Sr., precedes Ms. Fountain in death. Survivors include her seven children, Ethel Henderson of Covington, Louisiana; Cheryl Germany of Valdosta, Georgia; Tina Parker of Gautier, Mississippi; Twila Allen of Ocean Springs; Helen White of Ocean Springs; Henry Fountain, Jr. of Panama City Beach, Florida; and Hilliard Fountain of St. Martin; thirteen grandchildren; and a multitude of extended family members, friends and pets. Public visitation is scheduled at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs on October 25, from 5-8 p.m. Services will be held on October 26 at Belle Fountain Baptist Church where Ms. Fountain will lie in state from 12-2 p.m,. with memorial services at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Belle Fountain Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Belle Fountain Baptist Church, Hurricane Katrina Fund. The family wishes to express their thanks to Dr. Gary Rodberg and staff, and their beloved church family for their support and encouragement.
