Shirley Rose Pylate Covacevich, 75, passed away Friday, November 19, 2010, at her home in Ocean Springs, MS surrounded by her family. Shirley was a life long resident of the Gulf Coast and loved living on the water. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved cooking and having her family and friends over for gatherings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Juanita Pylate, her step-father, Lamar Easterling, her sister Gloria Pylate Garrett and her brother, James “Buster” Pylate. Shirley is survived by her husband, Neil Covacevich; her children, Ray Bodin, Jr., (Joann), Debbie Herron (Joel), Paul Bodin (Jennie), Rodney Bodin (Renee), Patti Butirich, and Suzette Bodin; step-son, Joseph "Keith" Covacevich (Sylvia); grandchildren, Angela Ramsey, Jennifer Blue, Brandi Gunter, Matthew Bodin, Clinton Bodin, Amanda Bodin, Brooke Dykes, Drew Lexie Bodin, Jed Collins, Jerin Collins, Jonathan Collins and Jordy Butirich; and seven great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. William Evans for his continuous care and support. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Biloxi where friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi is in charge of services. .
