Sidney Joseph Balius

Mr. Sidney Joseph Balius, age 72, of the Latimer Community, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Balius was a native of Biloxi, MS., and a lifelong resident of Latimer. He was a member of the Plumbers/Steamfitters Union # 568 and a life member of the D'Iberville Community Club. He enjoyed going fishing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Boney Balius and his father, Herman M. Balius. Survivors include two daughters, Shelly (Randall) Cox and Donna Balius, both of Latimer, two sons, Kerry (Darlene) Balius of Escatawpa, MS. and Andy (Michele) Balius of Latimer, his mother, Edwina Deloney Balius, also of Latimer two brothers, Arnold Balius and Ralph Balius, both of St. Martin, eight grandchildren, Jessica, Jamie, Aaron, Darryl, Kenny, Lauren, Kyle and Sadie, and one great-grandson, Rilee. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 29, 2010, from 9:30 am until 11 am, with an 11 am Mass of Christian Burial, all at Christ The King Catholic Church in Latimer. Burial will follow in D'Iberville Memorial Park. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
