Sofia Collette, 82, of Biloxi, MS, died Thursday, July 21, 2005, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Collette was a native of Bystryca, Poland and a survivor of the holocaust. After WW II she met her air force husband, George. They moved to Biloxi 40 years ago. She was a devoted wife and a self-made, hardworking woman, possessed with great ingenuity.
Sofia was preceded in death by her loving husband, George; her parents, Antonia and Franciszek Zuczek, and her sisters, Katerzina, Bronislaza, Maria and Anna.
Survivors include her brother, Frank and numerous family members in Poland. Of special closeness is her cousin, Michael Brennan, and his wife, Maria, and their family in Illinois.
Sofia's memory will be cherished by her family and friends. Special thanks is given to Dr. Wansley, Dr. McKee and the excellent staff at Biloxi Community Living Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2005, at Nativity B. V. M. Catholic Cathedral in the Marion Chapel, where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
