Sister Mary Aimee Starks, R.S.M., age 71, died Monday in Barling, AR.
She was born in Biloxi and entered the Religious life in 1954 and spent 53 years as a Religious Sister of Mercy. Over the years she was a teacher and principal in Catholic parochial schools throughout the state of Mississippi and Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James P. and Aimee Faurie Starks and brother, James P. Starks, JR.
Survivors include, Sisters, Aimee S. Blais, Margaret Reinhardt, Sister Mary Fatima Starks, R.S.M. and Mary Elizabeth Nappo; Brothers, John, Weldon, Robert and Leonard Starks; great aunt, Rita Faurie; along with many nieces, nephews, friends and former students.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 19, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville, where friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. Burial to be held on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sister's of Mercy Plot at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg, MS.
