SSgt Clemmie W. Gillikin, Sr., USAF Ret.

SSgt Clemmie W. Gillikin, Sr., USAF Ret., 77, of Biloxi, died on Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Mr. Gillikin was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. He was a retired SSgt in the USAF, a Vietnam Veteran, a member of the VFW and Elks. He retired from the city of Biloxi after 33 years to enjoy spending much of his time with his grandkids. Mr. Gillikin was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Gillikin is preceded in death by his first wife of 25 years, Georgette T. Gillikin and his second wife of 19 years, Patricia Gillikin; parents, Clemmie and Mary Gillikin and one grandchild. He is survived by his six sons, Clemmie (Cheri) Gillikin, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, James C. (Diana) Simons of Edmund, OK, Sean Gillikin of Biloxi, Michael Simons of Ocean Springs, Steven (Mary) Simons of Diamondhead and Kip (Amanda) Gillikin of Mascoutah, IL; four daughters, Diane (Charles) Dueitt of Leakesville, MS, Perri Schwartz of Biloxi, Lisa (Mike) Worrell of Biloxi and Lorrie (Gordon) Oakley of Tallahassee, FL; two brothers, Roy Gillikin of Garden City, GA and Everett Gillikin of Johnson City, NY; five sisters, Mary Klees of Savanah, GA, Josephine Hinton of Grove City, OH, Geraldine Jones of Canada, Geneva Poplin of Norwood, NC and Betty Wiggins of Savannah, GA; 25 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; American Heart Assoc., Greater Southeast Affiliate, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692; American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507. Visitation will be Sunday, February 14, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. Both will be held at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, West Biloxi. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
