Stan L. Smith

Mr. Stan L. Smith, 48, of Gulfport, MS, died Saturday, July 2, 2005, in Gulfport. Mr. smith was a native of Wiggins and had been a longtime resident of the coast. He was a graduate of Stone High School in Wiggins and attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Jr. College in Perkinston and the University of Southern Mississippi. He was employed the last ten years, overseas, with Global International. Mr. Smith attended St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach. Stan's favorite times were spent with his son, Jason, at Red Creek. He loved football, fishing and camping. Survivors include his wife, Karen Skrmetta Smith and his son Jason Smith of Gulfport, his parents, Gaston and Mary Agnes Smith of McHenry; three sisters, Donna Ware of Gulfport, Tamera "Tammy" Patton of Saucier and Stephanie Richards of Knoxville, TN. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport, where friends may visit till 7 p.m. The family prefers memorials be made to The American Diabetes Association, 16 Northtown Drive, Suite 100, Jacksaon, Ms 39211.
