Stanford W. McNeil

Stanford W. McNeil, age 52, of Lyman passed away peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2015. He was preceded in death by his natural father, George C. McNeil, Sr.; his uncle, Howard McNeil Sr.; and his aunt, Nell Wills Murray, whom he dearly loved as she was his caregiver during his mother’s working years. Survivors include his natural mother, Patsy McNeil Pannell and Donald Pannell of Lyman; sister Pam and Carl Clark and sons, Chad and Stephen Clark of Saucier; brother, George McNeil, Jr. of Caldwell, TX and daughters, Latricia, Michelle, Gabrielle and son, Mitchell; step-mother, Linda McNeil of Gulfport; step-sisters and step-brothers, David Pannell, Dennis Pannell, Patricia Pannell Keller, Renee Brown, Dawn Hammond and Jon Shields, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and special cousin, Robin Bond, who spent many hours over the past five years assisting with his care. During his growing up years in his river front home, Stan enjoyed swimming, fishing and camping on the Biloxi River! He excelled in playing baseball and football at Woolmarket and Harrison Central High School and played on the All-Star Teams. He attended Jeff Davis Junior College and enjoyed working as a pipefitter/welder for many years. The family would like to express their appreciation to all medical personnel who provided for his care during his last years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Lyman, 14321 Old Highway 49, Gulfport, MS 39503 for the M. L. Tootle Food Pantry or Gigi’s Closet for the Backpack Ministry, or to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 6520 North Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309-2130 or to the charity of one’s choice. The family plans a family gathering at the home of Donald and Patsy Pannell at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2015 to reminisce and remember the good times with Stan in celebration of his life!
