Stanley Fabian Cox, Jr.

Mr. Stanley Fabian Cox, Jr., age 57, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Saturday, August 22, 2009, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Cox was a lifelong resident of the coast. He was a former member of the Ocean Springs Fire Department and served six years in the Mississippi National Guard. He was a self-employed heavy equipment operator and enjoyed dirt track racing, camping, fishing, cooking outdoors and his family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley F. Cox, Sr., and a sister, Lisa Montgomery. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Retta Cox of Ocean Springs, MS., daughter, Carrie (John) Strickland of McHenry, MS., a son, Bryan (Dawn) Cox of Saucier, MS., three grandchildren, Jason, Cheyanne and Dalton, sister, Deborah (Jim) Murphy, two brothers, Dean (Tricia) Cox and James (Barbara) Cox, and special friends, Dickey and Sherry Arndt, all of Ocean Springs, MS., and his dog, Rascal. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, from 5 PM - 9 PM, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Thursday, August 27, 2009, there will be a 10 AM chapel service in the funeral home.
