Stella Ladnier Powell

Mrs. Stella Ladnier Powell, 81, of Biloxi, MS, passed away Friday, April 28, 2006, in Biloxi. Mrs. Powell was born September 6, 1924 in Biloxi. She was a very active member of her church, Full Gospel Tabernacle, also the ladies auxiliary club at the church. Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. A. B. Powell, and a daughter, Susan Hammerick. Mrs. Powell will be lovingly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, especially her children and grandchildren. Survivors include three daughters, Gloria Sisler and her husband, Frank, of Orange, MA, Nadine Ross and her husband, Danny, of Ocean Springs, and Cathy Dunbar of Biloxi. She is also survived by three sons, Allen Powell and his wife, Treva, of Biloxi, Lyman A. Powell and his wife, Amanda, of Gulfport, and James D. Powell and his wife, Susana, of Maturin, Venezuela; twenty one grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. In this lifetime the rariety of being graced by an angel only happens to a few. We consider ourselves the few. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 1, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Full Gospel Tabernacle where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Southern Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to the Full Gospel Tabernacle, 3109 Bachman Road, D'Iberville, MS 39540. The Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
