Steven Edward Osley passed away at his home in Biloxi, Mississippi on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the age of 67. He made his final journey to his eternal home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whom he loved dearly.
Steven was born in New York at Mitchel Field on March 18, 1952. He graduated from Biloxi High School in 1970 and went on to join the United States Air Force. In his military career, he was stationed in Spain, where he became fluent in speaking Spanish. After serving in the Air Force, Steven worked for Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula and later opened his own business, Kiss 1 Hour Photo Studio on Quave Road. He became disabled in the latter part of his life and was unable to work.
Steven enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, boating and camping. He had a passion for gardening and plants. Growing up, he loved most sports, especially baseball. He collected baseball cards, played league baseball, and later he coached little league baseball. Steven was also a huge New Orleans Saints fan and had hopes to see them win another Super Bowl. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Steven is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Edward Osley and John “Johnnie” Adele Gerkens Osley, and his brother, John “Jr.” Osley.
Steven is survived by his children, Samantha Osley Russell (Chris), New Orleans, Jason Osley (Amber), Sydney, Australia and Shelley Kay Bowling, Poplarville; grandchildren, Caleb Mariakis (Tamara), Noah Osley, Ashton Russell, Ethan Russell, Caroline Osley, Annaclaire Osley, Ashley Kay Austin (Seth), Raychele Mae Bowling, and Valerie Paige Bowling; great-grandchildren, Carter Mariakis and Jaxon Matthew Austin; siblings, Paula Osley Allen (Steve), Danny Osley, Ricky Osley (Cindy), Susan Osley Dubaz (Danny), and Kai Osley Taylor (Billy); sister-in-law, Linda Osley; several loving nieces and nephews; and his best friend Jo Jo (his dog).
The visitation and funeral service will be held at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Ave., Biloxi, Mississippi on March 16, 2020 with visitation from 9:30 to 11:30 and service at 11:30. Interment will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery at 12:30 pm.
To celebrate his love for the Saints, guests are encouraged to wear their favorite Saints attire.
