Summerfield S. Swetman III, 81, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015. He was a lifelong resident of Biloxi, MS. He was also a life member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks (BPOE). He was born one of six children to Summerfield and Mamie L. Swetman Jr. He was a husband of 63 years and a father to six. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and all manners of sports. Summerfield was also a long time member of the Church of the Redeemer. Summerfield is preceded in death by his father Summerfield S. Swetman Jr., mother Mamie L. Swetman, brother Fredrick (Freddie) Swetman, daughter Brenda J. Swetman, and son Summerfield (Rocky) Swetman IV. He is survived by his wife, Della Maxine Swetman, brothers James Swetman and Robert Swetman, sisters Kathleen Biliko and Patricia Bandy, his children, Bobbi J. Swetman, Della G. and Ronald Arant, Rena L. and Lamar Russell, Roy J. and LeAundria Swetman, Grandchildren Jana Patterson, Ryan and Scott Stalnaker, Ronald Arant, Alexaundria (Allie) Swetman, Arianna (Arie) Swetman, Brendalyn Russell, Bethany Russell, Harrison Russell, and Joshua Russell and Cassie R. Swetman and six great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gloria Kostmayer and the staff of Saad Healthcare for their compassion and support. A visitation will be held at Church of The Redeemer on Monday, August 3, 2015 from the hours of 1pm to 2pm with a service from 2pm to 3pm. All who wish to pay respects are welcome. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
