Sunney Murdock, 74, of Gulfport Ms, died Sunday, October 24, 2010 in Gulfport, MS. Born to Johnny and Frankie Murdock on January 30, 1936 in Point, TX, he was a native of Fresno, California. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal while serving his country in the Korean War. After his military service Sunney then went on to work for the State of California for 26 years. Sunney was a devoted loving husband and father, a devoted servant of God, and a faithful member of the Morris Road Church of Christ. He will be remembered for his impeccable sense of style, and his great sense of humor; but, most of all we will miss his infectious smile and big heart. He was preceded in death by his parents Johnny and Frankie Murdock, brothers Londell Murdock, Lawrence Murdock, John Murdock, sisters Louella Jackson and Onetta Johnson and daughter, Adeline Allen. He is survived by his devoted wife Marion Murdock, his brothers Jonathan Murdock and Otis Murdock (Sherry), his daughter Cheryl Mignott (Derven), his sons Leonard Murdock, Marion Stephen Murdock (CC), and Markus Murdock, grandchildren Shaunderay Aitkens, Kyeka Nay, Shiquita Murdock, Jamie Mignott, Phillip Mignott, Stephen Murdock, Darion Murdock, Adeline Murdock, Jewliana Murdock, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 12 noon at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the service.
