Susan Dianne Smith-McKee

Susan “Dianne” McKee left those who loved & cared for her to begin a new life in heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 3, 2008. Dianne was born on November 10, 1945, in Jasper County, Mississippi, to Winnie Lou Patrick Smith & the late Arthur E. Smith. She was a native of Jasper County and a resident of Ocean Springs. She was a previous member of Corinth Baptist Church in Heidelberg, MS and a current member of First Baptist Church in Gautier. Dianne was a loving, generous, and precious wife, mother, daughter and friend. She was co-owner of DRM Homes, LLC, and DRM Properties, LLC. but was best known for her home always being open to all who would come. She was preceded in death by her father Arthur Smith. Left to cherish her memories are her beloved mother, Winnie Lou Smith of Jasper County; husband of 39 years, David R. McKee of Ocean Springs, whom she loved more than life; son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Shannon White of Laurel; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Craig Doggett of Laurel; daughter and son-in-law, Shannan and Chris Lewis of Ocean Springs; three grandchildren, Blake and Brody Doggett of Laurel and Whitney Lewis of Ocean Springs; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Muffan Smith, Sr. of Macon, GA; and sister and dearest friend, Dr. Crystal Angell of Mandeville, LA., as well as a host of extended family members and many, many friends. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Ocean Springs Hospital SICU doctors, nurses and staff not only for their high level of care, but also for the kindness and compassion shown to Dianne and her family during her illness. Visitation is Monday, July 7, 2008, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs and also Tuesday, July 8, 2008 from 5 until 9 p.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, MS. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Corinth Baptist Church in Heidelberg, MS, with burial to follow. Pallbearers will be Shane White, Craig Doggett, Chris Lewis, Roger Smith, Jr, Blake and Brody Doggett. Honorary pallbearer will be Troy Patrick.
