Susan Marie Newman

Susan Marie Newman, age 84, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 10, 2022.  Susan was born and raised on Back Bay in Biloxi. She was married to the Love of Her Life, Wiley William Newman Sr., for 64 years.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence “Dee” and Eleanora Previto; her daughter, Brenda Newman Sargent; and her sister, Melonie Mattina.

She is survived by her husband, Wiley Newman Sr.; daughter, Gertrude Newman; son and daughter-in- law, Wiley Jr. and Ester Newman; grand-daughter, Olivia Newman; sister, Myrna Feranda; brother, Anthony “Buddy” Previto; brother and sister-in-law, David and Debbie Previto; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice for the care they gave to Susan and the help they gave to the family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos Catholic Church, 360 Lameuse St. Biloxi, MS, with visitation for family starting at 11:30 a.m. and friends at 12:00 p.m. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the Newman family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Susan’s name be made to Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos Catholic Church.
