Sybil A. Lambert, 84, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at her home. She was born in Double Springs, Alabama on April 14, 1939.
She was a devoted servant of the Lord and was a deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Pascagoula. For 44 years, Sybil was a loyal employee at Ingalls Shipbuilding (Litton Industries), having advanced to executive assistant for multiple Vice-Presidents. She also enjoyed being an armchair quarterback for the University of Alabama. Roll Tide! Sybil epitomized a true Southern Belle with her wit, charm, and impeccable manners.
She was preceded in death by her three beloved parents, David and Ila Lindley, and stepmother, Levis Lindley.
She is survived by her two adoring children, Dr. Chip Lambert (Kate) of Asheville, North Carolina, and Lori D. Lambert (Alfie Cole) of Huntington Beach, California. She had two grandchildren whom she cherished, Hannah Lambert Reefer (George) and Parke Lambert. She loved visiting family and friends and had the distinct honor and joy of attending Hannah and George’s November wedding in New Orleans. Sybil had one brother, Leldon Lindley, of Lacey, Washington and looked forward to speaking with him weekly. She leaves behind other relatives and many cherished friends. Sybil will be greatly missed by her loving and devoted companion of 26 years, Gene Harrington of Pascagoula, Mississippi with whom she spoke daily and shared a special relationship.
The service will be held on Saturday, April 13, at 11:00 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church of Pascagoula. Visitation will begin at 10 A.M.
