Sylvia Sonnier Diaz

Mrs. Sylvia Sonnier Diaz, 75, of Biloxi, MS, died Saturday, December 13, 2008, in Ocean Springs. She was born in Biloxi, MS, and remained a lifelong resident. She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville. Mrs. Diaz was preceded in death by her parents, Oleus and Della Sonnier, and brothers, Harold Sonnier, Danny Sonnier and Julius Sonnier. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Henry F. Diaz, sons, Michael F. (Mary Ann) Diaz, Steven J. (Carolyn) Diaz, Darrell J. (Becky) Diaz, and Dale A. (Debra) Diaz; daughter, Ann M. (Randy) Staehling; grandchildren, Regina Taylor, James Diaz, Spencer Diaz, Jason Diaz, Calon Diaz, Stephanie Diaz, Christopher Diaz, Anthony Diaz, Andrew Diaz, Aaron Diaz, Abram Diaz, Ashley Langlinais, Randall Staehling; great grandchildren, Madeleine Taylor and Michael Taylor; brothers, Carroll Sonnier, John Sonnier, and George Sonnier; and sisters, Ester Marsh, Ethel Tirrell, Nellie Williams, Mary Brochard, and Alice Goff. The family would like to thank the staff of Greenbriar Nursing Home for their continuous and professional care, especially Carroll "Jan" Brennan, John Brewer, Shaley Ezell and Teresa Mitchell. A Mass of Christian Burial is 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation is 12 noon until service time. There will be a Rosary at 12:15 p.m. Interment will be in D'Iberville Memorial Park. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi is in charge of services.
