Talmadge “T.D.” DeWitt Varnado, Jr., age 70, of Perkinston died Friday, May 24, 2013 in Perkinston. A retired attorney and the founding member of Varnado Law Firm, he was also an avid hunter and bush pilot (in Alaska) and his hobbies included flying, boating, and recreational firearms shooting. He was a Life Member of the National Rifle Association; he attained the rank of Eagle Scout while a Boy Scout with Explorer Post Number 203 in Gulfport, MS. He was a volunteer member of the Harrison County Sheriff Department’s Search and Rescue Dive Team and a charter member of the “Mississippi Gulf Coast Men-Fish” Skin and Scuba Diving Club, in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Talmadge Dewitt Varnado, Sr. and Alma Ryan Varnado.
Mr. Varnado is survived by his wife, Carolyn Varnado; two daughters, Tonda Haigler (Phillip) and Tera Burgard (Scott); a son, Casey R. Varnado (Jamie); and eight grandchildren.
The funeral service is Monday, May 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 1:00 p.m.
