Teddy Francis Musial, 87, passed away on October 24, 2023, in his home surrounded by family. He was born and raised in Donora, PA to Frank and Helen Musial. Ted was married to the love of his life, Jacky, for 58 years.
Ted worked for the Donora Steel Mill and after moving to Lakewood, OH, several different corporations including International Seaway Trading and Sherwin Williams. In addition, he worked part-time jobs with American Greetings and Silver Fox Florist.
Ted was a devoted parishioner of St. James Catholic Church in Lakewood, OH for 38 years. After retiring from the workforce, he moved to Gulfport, MS and continued his Catholic devotion as a member of St. Joseph Parish for 19 years. He was a Eucharistic Minister, brought communion to the homebound, and participated in multiple Cursillo retreats. He was also a volunteer lector for Sunday Mass. He is the Confirmation Sponsor to the three Musial grandchildren. Along with his wife Jacky, he received the “Light of Christ” award in 2014.
Ted was a devoted and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He was a genuinely kind, gentle and compassionate man. He was loved by all who knew him. He was dedicated to attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, school functions and holiday events. He never missed one.
He loved traveling back to Ohio and Pennsylvania to visit family and friends. He loved going to Orange Beach, AL and Destin, FL for family vacations. He spoiled his dog, Bailey, and often referred to her as the best angel his wife left him after her passing.
Ted was proud of his Polish heritage. He loved to Polka dance, follow his favorite Polka bands and dance with his wife to the wee hours of the morning doing the Polish Chicago Hop. He was often asked to join the polka bands on stage to play the bells. He played the harmonica and had the best time playing “Ring Around the Rosie” for his children and grandchildren.
Ted was a true sports lover. He played basketball and baseball in high school. His favorite football teams to watch were the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He grew to love the New Orleans Saints. He loved the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Indians. Ted played recreational volleyball up to age 65. He watched The Dan Patrick Show daily and enjoyed sharing bits from the show.
Ted was preceded in death by his wife Jacky Musial, son Timothy Musial; his parents Frank and Helen Musial, sisters Flow Pawelec, Patty Perdock; brother-in-law Joseph Snyder.
Ted is survived by his daughters, Tammy L. Simon and Terry A. Dalton (Todd); daughter-in-law Michele Musial (Ronnie Burrus); grandchildren Megan Webster (Adam), Justin Simon (Nicole), Alexandra Musial, Tyler Francis Musial, and Cameron Musial; great grandchildren, Sloane Webster, Walker Webster, Liam Simon, Harper Simon; brother and sisters-in-law Jerry and Kristen Snyder; extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held 12:00PM Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at St Joseph Catholic Church, 12290 Depew Road, Gulfport, MS, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00PM.
