Leslie Teno Henderson, age 82, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023.
Teno was born on May 9, 1941 in Pensacola, FL. Teno played baseball since he was 5 years old. He attended Pensacola Junior College on a baseball scholarship- 1st All American. He then went to USM on a baseball scholarship and received an offer to play pro-baseball from Washington Senators but decided to finish his education. Teno worked at Ingalls for 43 years, starting in submarine engineering and retired as Vice President in 2005. He served on the Planning Commission in Ocean Springs. He was Alumni of the Year at USM in early 2000. Teno loved spending time with his family and friends, especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He never missed any of their practices, games, dances recitals and competitions. To Teno, God and family were most important.
Teno is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Martin Henderson and Thelma Kilcrease Henderson. Left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Hawsey Henderson; daughter, Kristen Anne Little; grandchildren, Justin Godsey (Katrina), Jordan Godsey (Kayla), Gabrielle Abdalbaky, and Caleb Little; great grandchildren, Savannah, Isabella and Maximus Godsey and Baby G.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs. Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations in his memory be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to your favorite charity.
