Terry Lynn Fordemwalt, age 71, went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2024 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. 

Terry was born in Kansas City, Missouri on September 15, 1952.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Lillian Fordemwalt; and his brother, John Fordemwalt.

 As one of seven children, life was busy and lively.  He was involved with Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and was an active member of the Tribe of Micosay and the DeMolay.  Another interest was Drama Club in which he assisted with many productions.  As an excellent left-handed first baseman, he was a member of several baseball teams even into adulthood.  In 1970, he graduated from Ruskin High School.

 In 1971, he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at McConnel AFB, Wichita, Kansas where he met his future wife, Kathleen Sherman.  In 1976, he received an assignment to Scott AFB, Illinois as a medical technician on an air evacuation team moving patients from one base to another for medical care.  In 1978, he married Kathy in Wichita and she joined him in Illinois.  Together they served in Mississippi twice and the Republic of the Philippines. 

After 23 years of active duty, Terry retired and went to work in the civilian sector for WMS Gaming and KMar Industries, Inc.  He was an avid bowler with a 200+ average and with his sons, enjoyed scouting activities and frequent campouts.  He served as Committee Chairman of Cub Scout Pack 220 for eight years.  Terry was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and served on numerous committees and as an usher.  He was also the Lay Delegate to the Mississippi Annual Conference for many years.

Terry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathy; and his two sons, Daniel (Jennifer) of Mobile, Alabama and Christopher of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  He was the proud and loving Paw Paw to four beautiful grandchildren, Jack, Hadley, Cash, and Audrey Fordemwalt of Mobile, Alabama.  Also surviving Terry are his siblings, Michael (Debbie) Fordemwalt of Greenville, Texas; Robert Fordemwalt of Amity, Arkansas; Karen Lacy of Olatha, Kansas; Janet (David) Custer of Raymore, Missouri and Melody Fordemwalt of Kansas City, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St Paul Church Ocean Springs PO Box 909, Ocean Springs, Mississippi 39564.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on January 27, 2024 at St. Paul UMC, 6716 Bienville Blvd., Ocean Springs, MS 39564 (corner of Hwy 57 and Hwy 90). Friends may visit from 9:30 am until service time. Interment will be held at 10:00 am on January 29, 2024 at Biloxi National Cemetery.
