Thearon Timothy "Tim" Thomas

Thearon Timothy “Tim” Thomas, age 75, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023.

Tim was born in Booneville, MS on November 10, 1947. He married Mary Hayes on October 3, 1970. Tim attended Itawamba Community College in Fulton, MS and received a bachelor’s degree from William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS and his master’s degree from Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, KY. He served 3 campuses of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College as Campus Minister for 30 years.

Tim was a kind and gentle soul. He loved music and played classical guitar and piano. He was a wonderful husband to his wife, Mary, and a friend and confidant to all who knew him. Tim touched many lives during his time on this earth.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Audie Thomas; grandparents, Eli and Hester Johnson; and uncle, Bob Johnson.

He will be greatly missed by his mother, Willa Dean Thomas; wife, Mary Hayes Thomas and her family; aunt, Fay Johnson; niece, Julie Johnson; nephew, Andy Johnson; and everyone who knew him.

Thanks to our friends and family who lifted us up in prayer. We truly felt the Lord’s presence during this difficult time. And thanks to all of you who cared for Tim during his recent illness at Memorial Hospital, Encompass Rehab, SAAD Healthcare, and St. Joseph Hospice. I will forever be grateful to all of you.

A memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15^th Street, Gulfport. Friends may visit one-hour prior to service. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15^th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Thomas family.
