Thelma Wilkinson Ewing, 85, of Biloxi, MS, died August 31, 2005 in Biloxi. Born in Gramercy, LA on June 7, 1920 to the late Biddle and Marguerite Wilkinson. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School Class of 1938. She was an avid fan of Norte Dame High School Football and Baseball where she was known to ring her cowbell in support. She was noted in Life Magazine with Chris Taranto after he pitched 12 no hitters. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, George Walton Ewing, Sr.; a son, Benjamin; a daughter, Andra Ewing; two brothers, Caroll and Bill Wilkinson, Jr.; and two sisters, Marguerite Tyner and Leland Dresser. Survivors include two sons, George Walton Ewing, Jr. and wife Barbara and John F. Ewing, Sr. and wife Patricia; a sister, Lois Moore and her husband John; nine grandchildren, Jack Ewing, Jr., Andrea and husband Lee Overstreet, Jody Ewing and wife Lisa, Buddy Ewing and wife Chrisie, T.J. Ewing, Miranda Dauzat, Billy Brewer, Jennifer Hughes and Andrew Lamber; great grandchildren, Dustin Ewing, Rivers Ewing, Cheyenne Ewing, Aldan Ewing, Mason McClane, Jayden Cheatum, Katlyn and Emily. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. from Nativity B.V.M. where friends called after 12 noon. Interment followed at Biloxi City Cemetery. Special thanks to Debra Scarbrough, who took great care of her in her last few years, and thanks to Biloxi Care Center and Hospice. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, Biloxi, in charge of arrangements.
