Theodore "Ted" "Pontiac" Pattison

Mr. Ted "Pontiac" Pattison, 83, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, died peacefully at home on Thursday, June 11, 2009. Mr. Pattison, born in Louisville, Kentucky, was raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He and his wife, Joyce Ford Pattison, moved to Ocean Springs in 1960 when he took over his father's automobile dealership, Pattison Pontiac in Biloxi. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII as well as a member, elder and deacon of the Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs. After his retirement, Mr. Pattison selflessly worked as a volunteer with "The Lord is My Help" for over 25 years, 15 of which he participated in the "Jog Walk" that he founded to raise money for the hungry. At the time of his death, he was employed with Community Bank. Mr. Pattison is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joyce Pattison, his daughter Rosalie Pattison Barnett; son Ted W. Pattison, Jr.; sister Gloria Pattison Dulin of Pembroke, Kentucky; and three grandchildren, Alexandria Pattison, Emily Barnett, and Tyler Barnett. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Odyssey Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in Mr. Pattison's honor, to "The Lord is My Help", 1205 DeSota Street, Ocean Springs, MS 39564. Funeral services will be Monday, June 15, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Ocean Springs where friends may visit one hour before the service time. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs is in charge of arrangements
