Theresa Cook VanArsdall

Theresa Cook VanArsdall, 85, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010 with her daughter, Terri and son, Joel at her side at Gordon Oaks Retirement Home in Mobile, AL. Mrs. VanArsdall is preceded in death by her husband, James W. VanArsdall. A long time resident of Gulfport, she is survived by her three children, her loving and devoted daughter, Terri Cook Bowden (Dr. Stephen Bowden) of Mobile, AL; Joel T. Cook and special friend, Denise Owens of Destin, FL; John A. Cook (Donna) of Destin, FL; six grandchildren, Patrick Cook, Camilla Cook, Nicholas Cook, Matthew Bowden, Jason Cook, and Chris Cook. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge in Gulfport. She was a long time employee of Bailey Homes and retired from Magnolia Federal Savings and Loan. The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Gordon Oaks, to Odyessy Health Care and to special nurse, Brenda Sprague for their devoted care and comfort. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Gulfport where the family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service.
