Therese “Irene” Donahue, an incredibly crazy, stubborn, independent, strong-willed, generous, and maddeningly loyal mother, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022, after a long battle with end-stage emphysema.
Irene was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio. She never shied away from giving her opinion, never failed to offer a hug, and never met someone whom she didn’t give her all to try to be friendly to. Irene was always 100% authentically herself though. When others told her that she COULDN’T do a thing, she made sure she proved to them that she COULD. Whether that was obtaining her truck driving credentials, tending bar, firing weapons, or learning Kenpo karate. She was stubborn, but that often led to her many successes. Irene is going to be very much missed. The house is already so much emptier and lonelier. We hope that all of you who knew her will find comfort in the memories you have of her. Hug your loved ones a bit tighter today. Tomorrow is never promised.
Irene was preceded in death by her grandmother, Bertha Leone Norris Chapman; father, Ralph Ray Chapman; mother, Thelma Therese Josephine Stohl Chapman; sister, Korean Faye Chapman; and daughter, Ruth Ann Donahue.
She is survived by her son, Robert Doll; sisters, Mary Ann White, Sondra Dee Adams, Charlotte Leone Clark, Ellen Fife, Alma Marie Kemle, Roxanne Evette Smith, and Jinnie Blenda Chapman; and brother, Paul Edward Chapman.
A memorial gathering will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, November 17, 2022, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS.
Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Therese “Irene” Donahue.
