Thomas Lawrence Anderson, age 62, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
Thomas was born on February 3, 1958 in Conway, SC to Dr. Thomas J. and Katherine Anderson. He was a former resident of Laurel, MS and a graduate of the University of Mississippi. Thomas was employed at WLOX for over 30 years where he worked in production. He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed the outdoors.
When asked by daughter Lauren “Dad, why don’t you just retire?”
He responded...
“I’m retired now, I just get to go hang out with my work family weekday afternoons and evenings. Need to have the attitude each day I get to enjoy all the blessings in my life. I love you so much."
He loved his WLOX family, and thought of them in exactly that way, family. He chose to wake up with gratitude and to be thankful for every day he was given.
Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Anderson and sister, Laura Allene Anderson.
Survivors include his daughters, Lauren (Jonathan) Bannister and Leah (Dru) Holland; son, John Anderson; father, Thomas Anderson; sisters, Suzanne Boyd and Kathy (Reggie) Dearman; brother, Glenn Anderson; and 7 grandchildren, Warren, Jaxson, Bentley, Baylor, Isla, Bronson, and Sumner.
A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021 at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Shubuta Cemetery in Shubuta, MS. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the Anderson family.
