Thomas Harold Sims

Thomas “Tom” Harold Sims, 88 of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on January 31, 1935 in Georgiana, AL to Hilton T. Sims and Lucille Sims. He was a High School graduate. He served 20 years in the Civil Service Department of the Navy as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.  During his 21 years of the United States Navy, he was awarded the China Service Medal, 4 Good Conduct Medals, Navy Expeditionary Medal, 2 National Defense Service Medals, and a Korean Service Medal. He enjoyed traveling, music, camping, metal detecting, working on automobiles, fishing, hunting, grilling, going to the beach, western movies, football, and spending time with his family.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Hilton T. Sims and Lucille Sims.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Martha Sims; daughters, Denise (Jimmy) Lane and Tonya Duvall; grandchildren, Cameron (Brianna) Lane, Devan (Tara) Lane, Lauren Colegrove, Allison (Mike) Jacquot, and Kaitlyn (Don) Pion; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Vadan, Brandon, Don Jr., Flynn, Finn, Brynlee, and Callum; and siblings, Gerald (Yoko) Sims and Judy (Paul) Berrey.
