Mr. Thomas C. M. "Tim" Timmons, 47, passed away on March 8, 2005, in Little Rock, Arkansas after a brief valiant fight with cancer.
Tim served 20 years in the U. S. Air Force as a security policeman, retiring in 1997 with the rank of Technical Sergeant. While in the military he was awarded the Air force Achievement Medal with one device, Army Commendation Medal with one device, Air Force Commendation Medal with two devices, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon with one device, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with five devices and numerous other awards and certificates. He served from August 1990 to May of 1997 in support of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm and in the desert in Kuwait. As a devout Catholic, Tim served as an altar boy at Sacred Heart Parish in D'Iberville. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout while a member of Boy Scout Troop 226 in D'Iberville on June 25, 1975 and graduated from D'Iberville High School in 1976. He was a member of the D'Iberville Volunteer Fire Department prior to the city having a paid fire department.
Tim was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Morris B. and Ada G. Timmons of Washington, DC; his maternal grandfather, Peter S. Wescovich of D'Iberville; a younger sister, Mary Timmons D'Angelo of D'Iberville and his niece, Melissa Victoria Timmons of Grand Bay, AL.
Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Susan Spraue Timmons and son, Anthony Ryan of Cabot, Arkansas; his son, Thomas Joseph "T J" Timmons and his wife, Justina Niemczuk, and grandson, Clayton Joseph "CJ" of Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina; his loving parents, Thomas C. and Lilly Wescovich Timmons D'Iberville; his sister, Jaynie M. Timmons Moon and her husband, Jeff, and their twin, Michael and Michelle Moon of Milton, Florida; his brother, Richard J. Timmons and his wife, Darnell Danise, and their daughters, Tiffany, Rachael and Rebecca, of Grand Bay, Alabama; his sister, Anne Timmons Harbison and her son, James J. "Jay", of D'Iberville; his maternal grandmother, Mazie Wescovich of D'Iberville; niece, Rose D'Angelo Lawson and Paul A. "Andy" D'Angelo of Gulfport.
Tim was a loving husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He can best be described as a "Gentle Giant".
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday March 16, 2005 at 11:30 a.m., where friends may visit one hour before service time at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, D'Iberville, MS. Burial will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery.
