Tommie Jean Roberson Taylor

Tommie Jean Roberson Taylor, age 75, of D’Iberville, MS passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2018 with her family by her side. Tommie was born March 17, 1943 to Thomas and Jeanetta Roberson. They had five girls and whenever one started dating her Daddy would invite their uncle, who was a military recruiter, over for dinner and the relationships would be over sooner than they started. And then came Daddy. Their first date was to the Shrimp Bowl in Biloxi and within a few months of dating she knew he was the one. They married July 20, 1961. The United States Air Force sent them on great adventures, with her favorite being the three years they lived in Italy. Momma always taught us to use good manners. No matter what the age, your reply better be yes ma’am or no sir. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Bobby; her two children, Robert Taylor, Jr. and his wife Sharon and Christy McGill and her husband David, her beautiful granddaughters, Brittany, Lauren, Taylor and Savannah; and her sisters and very best friends, Charlotte Bailey, Barbara Fales, Debbie Knight and her baby sister, Lynn Suddeth. Her family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Tracy Ladner with Kare in Home Hospice for her support and loving care of momma. Tracy said Daddy was the true example of in sickness and in health, till death they did part. A private memorial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in her honor. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
