Uelda J. Ross Butler

Uelda J. Ross Butler, 80, passed away Friday, March 9, 2007 in Lilburn, Georgia Mrs. Butler was a native and lifelong resident of Biloxi until Hurricane Katrina, when she left to be cared for by her daughter and son-in-law Mary and Grady Womble. Mrs. Butler's great grand parents came to the Gulf Coast from Germany in the 1800s and were pioneers in the shrimping industry. The Ross-Allen family spreads wide across the coast and made up a large base of the families here. Mrs. Butler and her late husband Oscar and son David, owned Butler's Boarding Kennel and Butler's Pets for many years in Biloxi. She was a member of the Ladies Club in both Joppa Shrine Temple and Coast Nobles Shrine Club. Mrs. Butler was also a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar D. Butler, Sr., a daughter, Gwen Butler Morris, her parents, four brothers and six sisters. She leaves to cherish her wonderful lifetime of memories her son and daughter-in- law, Oscar D. "David" Butler, Jr. and wife Libby of Ocean Springs, her daughters, Mary Butler Womble and husband Grady of Lilburn, GA., Julie Butler Mapes and husband Michael of Stone Mountain, GA and Jenne Butler Migues and husband Brian of Vancleave, her twelve grandchildren Connie, Laurie, Tammy, Carolyn, Grady Jr., Jason, Christopher, Ashley, Myriah, Bryan, Rebecca and Julian, ten great-grandchildren Paul, Megan, Kendra, Justin, Jorden, Austin, Jeremy, Christian, Kaitlyn and Jacob, her sister Mrs. Mena Ross Wallis and brother Eley Ross both of Biloxi. Visitation will be at the Bradford-O'Keefe Pass Road Chapel, on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 from 6 to 9 p.m.. A funeral mass will be said on Thursday, March 15, 2007 at 10 am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with a burial to follow at Southern Memorial Park Cemetery. On angels wings she flies to dance in heaven with Daddy. We love you Momma, Mary, David, Julie and Jenne.
