Vada E. Cooksey

Mrs. Vada E. Cooksey, 90, of Biloxi, died on Monday, April 27, 2009 in Biloxi. Mrs. Cooksey was a resident of Biloxi for the past 43 years. She was an elementary teacher of Special Education, teaching at Head Start for 25 years. Mrs. Cooksey was an active member of the Rodenberg Church of Christ in Biloxi. Her faith in God and love for family was the source of her incredible strength and her joy for life. Mrs. Cooksey is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Dayton Cooksey; parents, George and Beatrice Ezell; brother, Howard Ezell. She is survived by three daughters, Carol (Randy) Arnold of Whitehouse, TX, Denise (Jimmy) Price of Biloxi and Lisa (Keith) Roberts of Federal Way, WA; three grandchildren, Rodney (Denise) Arnold of Gladewater, TX, Wayne (Kristy) Price of Louisville, KY, and Julie (Aaron) Micksch of Scott AFB, IL; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Rodenberg Ave. Church of Christ in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Cemetery, Gulfport. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Ave., Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
