Valence Horner

Mrs. Valence Theresa Horner of Ocean Springs, MS died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at the age of 77. "Sis", as she was better known, was born and raised in Pascagoula. She was a 1946 graduate of Moss Point High School and a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Orville Horner; son, Steven Dale Horner; her parents, Bennie Samuel West and Louise Corrine Mansfield West of Pascagoula; one brother, Bernard Joseph West of Laurel, MT and four brothers-in-law. Her survivors include a son, William Herbert Horner and his wife, Deborah, of Fulshear, TX; a daughter, Jo Ann Ricker of Ocean Springs; a granddaughter, Alyssa Nicole Hebert and her husband, Shelley, of Starkville, MS; a grandson, David Lowell Smith and his wife, Cheryl, and four great-grandchildren of Corinth, MS. Also two brothers, William Richard West and his wife, Pauline, of Barnsville, GA and Lynn Charles West and his wife, Christine, of Ocean Springs; four sisters, Bernadette Louise Clifton of Ocean Springs; Marie Gladys Boren of Meridian; Claire Audrey Albright of Ocean Springs and Helen Rose Fezekas of Comer, GA; a sister-in-law, Betty Jean West, of Laurel, MT; thirty nieces and nephews and fortynine great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, April 4, 2005 at 2:15 p.m..at Bradford-O'KeefeFuneral Home in Ocean Springs where friends may visit from 1 p.m. till service time. Burial will follow in Jackson County Memorial Park.
