Mrs. Velma Irene Dunaway-Forehand, 88, of D’Iberville went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 14, 2010, at Biloxi Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Forehand was born July 14, 1921, in Columbia, MS to the parents of Blair and Fannie Terrell. She was a resident of the Gulf Coast for most of her life. She was the oldest member of the Pentecostals of the Gulf Coast under the leadership of Rev. James and Paul Springer. For most of her life, she was a seafood worker for Booker Factory and the Gollott Brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Keith Dunaway; and a granddaughter, Terri Diane Holland. She is survived by seven children, Eugene (Charlene) Dunaway of Raymond, MS, Bennie (Daniel) Holland of D’Iberville, John (Jessica) Dunaway of D’Iberville, Dean Forehand of Biloxi, Robin Lloyd-Dawson of Woolmarket, Scott (Patricia) Forehand of St. Martin, and Jeffrey Forehand of D’Iberville, twenty three grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchilden; and two great-great grandchildren. She will be missed by numerous family members and friends.
Visitation is Saturday, January 16, 2010, from 9 until 11 a.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, Biloxi. Mrs. Forehand will be taken to The Pentecostals of the Gulf Coast where she will lay instate at 12 p.m. with funeral services at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in D'Iberville Memorial Park.
