Vera Theresa Ramsay

Vera Seymour Ramsay died June 9, 2010 in Latimer, MS. Mrs. Ramsay was born in 1918 in the St. Martin Community and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to twenty-eight children. She was of the Catholic faith. Above all, Mrs. Ramsay loved taking care of her family, cooking, yard sales and tending the flowers in her yard. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Elvin Oscar Ramsay; father & mother, Wilmer and Alena Seymour; sister, Mae Necaise; brothers, Ervin, Harvey, Orey, Arthur, Julius and Chester Seymour. Mrs. Ramsay is survived by sons, Byron Ramsay (Maxine) and Verlin Ramsay (Janice) of Latimer; sisters, Eleanor Goff of Ocean Springs and Eunice Seymour of Latimer; six grandchildren, Lena Ramsay Matta (JD), Karen Ramsay Henson (Dan), Ray Ramsay (Terry), Lori Ramsay Massey (Kirk), Scott Ramsay (Susan), Sonny Ramsay (Tamra); fourteen great-grandchildren, Lene' Ramsay Braun (Trent), Clint and Joshua Henson (Kristy), Ginger Matta, Aaron Ramsay, Matthew and Sarah Ramsay, Bret, Marie and Dell Massey, Kale and Shay Ramsay and honorary great-grandaughter, Rita Todd, all of Latimer; Justin Ramsay (Ashley) of Portland, Oregon and Holly Matta Mott (Will) of Lake Charles, Louisiana; seven great-great grandchildren, Ty and Alayna Braun, Dylan Matta, Cayden Gregory and Carter Henson, all of Latimer, Grace and Lily Mott of Lake Charles, Louisiana. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 14, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville at 12 Noon where friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be sent to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org or P.O.
