Verlin Mary Wein

Verlin M. Wein, age 87, passed away Dec. 28, 2015. She was born June 26, 1928 in Biloxi, MS, and attended Biloxi High School. She was a bartender for over forty years along the coast & the “Best” Grandmother! Verlin loved her faith, Church and her family as she would always tell them, “Big like God!” She was preceded in death by her parents, Ferdnand & Electa Smith; her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Wein; her only daughter, Roselyn “Janie” Miller; grandson, Daniel Verl Feranda; and two brothers, Daniel & FJ “Beaver” Smith; great-great granddaughter, Taylyn Gibbs. Verlin is survived by her only son, Karlen Holt of Ocean Springs, MS; granddaughters: Lori (Ronnie) Roberts of Woolmarket, Jennifer (Robert) Lynch of Mobile, Crystal (Brian) Goldman of Bigpoint; grandsons: Karlen (Laura) Holt II of Birmingham AL, Larry (Mandye) Feranda Jr. of Lucedale , James (Cindy) Feranda of Ocean Springs, Terry Miller of Biloxi; great grandchildren: Lil Ronnie (her #1) and Bailie Roberts, Kasee and Cody Feranda, Nicholas and Kylee Holt, Shane, Haley and Matt Waldrop, Tyler, Jordyn and Janie Feranda, Chance, Hope and Faith Goldman, Destany Feranda, Ashton, Mackenzee, Blake and Camron, great-great grandchildren, two sisters: Audrey (Wallace) Boudreaux of Biloxi and Sandra (Weldon) Babuchna of Biloxi; numerous nieces & nephews that loved her deeply. Special thank you to Ms. Carol, Mr. Carl and her niece Donna for all their special care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Our Lady of Fatima or St Vincent De Paul in honor of Verlin. Services will be held Monday, January 4, 2016 at 11:15am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Friends may visit from 9:30am to 11:15am. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
