Verna Lee Wester

Verna Lee Wester, of Biloxi, died Monday, January 23, 2012. Mr. Lee was born in Centre, AL. He was a veteran of the US Navy and the US Coast Guard, where he served in the Auxiliary for 10 years. He graduated from Common Wealth College and was a highly respected funeral service professional. He served approximately 20 years with Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Biloxi in the later part of his career. He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Myrtle Wester of Atlanta; his wife, Edith Wester; his brother, Ronnie Wester of Alabama; and his sister, Kathy Wester of Atlanta. He is survived by three step daughters, Dorris Sumrall of Biloxi, Nancy Hamilton of Gulfport, Sonja Garrison of Mandeville, LA; three sisters, Betty Ann (Bud) Freeman, Nita Richardson and Linda Jett, all of Atlanta; Ms. Lucy Duncan who was Lee's companion and caregiver who was very special to Lee, along with numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. where friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
