Verna Lillian Poss

Mrs. Verna Lillian Poss, age 79, of Ocean Springs, MS., died peacefully with her family by her side, on Monday, October 11, 2010, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Poss was a native of Newport, Rhode Island and a resident of the community for 46 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her family and time with her two grandchildren. Mrs. Poss was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, J.P. Poss, her parents, Earl W. and Lillian Dowery Clark and a sister, Marilyn Clark. Survivors include a daughter, Sherrill (Bruce) Edwards of Ocean Springs, MS., son, Greg (Beth) Poss of Gautier, MS., two grandchildren, Justin Edwards and Rachel Edwards (Jason) Knewasser, all of Ocean Springs, MS., and a great niece, Laura Clark Prohaska of Chicago, Illinois. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 14, 2010, from 10 am until 11 am, with an 11 am chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
